Linalool

Linalool is believed by aromatherapists to be beneficial in treating depressions among other conditions, and this appears to be substantiated by several studies carried out on this chemical.

Linalool is the substance that gives many essential oil their sweetness, and is most associated with lavender, the oil of which is 50% linalool. Lavender is well known for its relaxing and anti-depressive properties. It reduces stress and aggressive behaviour, and also helps you get a good night's sleep.

A new study has indicated that linalool could help to reduce the activity of certain cells related to liver cancer, though this in no way indicates it to a potential cure or even a treatment. It is an initial investigation that has demonstrated linalool to prevent these cells from replicating and so destroying the cancerous growth studied.

This is sufficient indication, however, to give a strong indication that any substance containing linalool has to potential to offer health benefits well beyond those currently associated with them.
